Well, it seems Yahoo is doing away with Geocities! That's where the Jonas Ingram website has been hosted for almost nine years. I guess in these economic times, you can only give away free space for a limited amount of time!
I found a (practically) free place to host the new website (Office Live), and Blogspot to host the blog. I hate that I have to keep bouncing around, but to everyone who has managed to get here...
Welcome!
Your blog/webmaster,
Richard Dobson

RM3 David Kean, I served on the JI from Dec. 70 thru Aug. 72. Have unforgetable memories of my time served with some great guys. I remain in close contact with several of my Radioman shipmates to this day. We will always have a special relationship through our associations and good times on the JI. We are still searching for other shipmates from our era. This has become a passion with me, personally, as well as Tim Reilly, Eddie Goldsmith, Jim Comish and "Abe" Abernathy. Please let us hear from you.
ReplyDeleteDCSN Paul A Jarvis, I served on board the JI from 1968 - Philly Decommisioning in 1969. Was on the botched Appollo 11 Mission (do to an extended stay in FT Lauderdale,) off Bermuda and then going to Bermuda and not able to go off base because of race riots. So much for seeing Bermuda.
ReplyDeleteBT2 George Kyser Aft Fireroom 1976-1981: greetings everyone, we are doing fine in South GA. Talked to Rocky White and he is fine. Things are well. Let me hear from you peach6155@hughes.net.

ReplyDeleteHi, I just stumbled onto this website, what a lucky day for me! I was onboard in 1970-71 for the re-commissioning (Cap'n Metzger "balls out" flag and then Cap'n Colbus), and ohhh the stories that I have to tell! I remember Brinkley, Shores,Konopka, Popyk, Verdini, Duzak, Chaput as well as other shipmates from my hometown of Mansfield, Ohio. I emailed Pete, requesting information for the October, 2010 reunion. I would love to attend and re-acquaint with old shipmates and make new friends. Thanks for this site! Richard Ferrell, HT-2, R-Division, 1970-71.
